Championship Update July 2025
There have been 14 races which have taken place in the Championship Calendar this year with 52 Quakers taking part. This has included a range of races across all 3 groups including 5K, 5 miles, 10K, 10 miles and Half marathons.
Lordstones 5K
This is the second Muddy Roads race in the Championship Calendar. Lordstones is a scenic, undulating race covering 5K. 17 Quakers took part in this race with Marc Ellis Gaining 50 points with an age adjusted time of 17:19. Alex Mathers gained 49 points in an age adjusted time of 18:16 and Billy Harris gained 48 points in an age adjusted time of 18:54.
Crackpot Trail Run 11K
There were 12 Quakers who were running for points in the Crackpots Trail race on the 8th June. The evening was dry and sunny with a chilly breeze. The race takes in 5 one-mile laps around the park. Marc Ellis gained 50 points in an age adjusted time of 25:05, Ian Hart gained 49 points in an age adjusted time of 27:46 and Diane Vaughan gained 48 points in an age adjusted time of 29:42
Willow Miner 5.7M
A beautiful summer evening trail race in Durham across woodland, meadow and riverbank, passing the local landmarks of the Willow Miner and Willow Lady. 8 Quakers took part in the race with Billy Harris gaining 50 points in an age adjusted time of 34:04, Alex Mathers gaining 49 points in an age adjusted time of 34:57 and Wendy Colling gaining 48 points in an age adjusted time of 42:24
Durham Coast Half Marathon
Set on the scenic Durham Coastal Path. This is a very popular and challenging half marathon. Only 3 Quakers took on the challenge of this race with Alex Mathers gaining 50 points in an age adjusted time of 01:40:06, Carys Samuel gaining 49 points in an age adjusted time of 02:06:46 and Helen Clark gaining 48 points in an age adjusted time of 2:41:44
Ali Brownlee 5K
This 5K route starts at Centre Square in Middlesbrough and takes you out towards the Riverside Stadium before heading back to Centre Square to finish. Marc Ellis gained 50 points in an age adjusted time of 15:12, Ian Hart gained 49 points in an age adjusted time of 16:55 and Ian Burgess gained 48 points in an age adjusted time of 17:31
Durham Trail 10M
The Durham Trails 10 offers runners a fabulous opportunity to run some beautiful trails in Durham City and the areas surrounding the city. The 10-mile route starts in Durham City before heading down along the rivers Wear Dale Way, through the fabulous local woods of Shincliffe and Croxdale. You will then return to the city via some great trails and finishing with the spectacular climb up to the top of Whinney Hill; where you will see the uninterrupted view of Durham Cathedral from one of the highest vantage points within the city itself. 15 Quakers took part in this race with Billy Harris gaining 50 points in an age adjusted time of 1:09:41, Brian Martin gained 49 points in an age adjusted time of 1:10:19 and Alex Mathers gained 48 points in an age adjusted time of 1:12:14
