Darlington Community Carnival is an annual event based in Stanhope Park and includes a stunning procession through the Town Centre, showcasing community groups and their talents. The festivities include non-stop entertainment, performances, and activities for families.

The theme of this year’s event was ‘Legends and Fairytales’ with children and community groups displaying a wonderful and wacky array of costumes, sculptures and banners. Those taking part were spotted dressed up as butterflies, giraffes, and bees, proudly waving flags and beating drums.

Lin Gossage, Berni Gibson, Caroline Maychell, Jan Waite, Karen Dove, Kylie Rushton, Daniel Orton, Sally Singleton (and Peter), Ian Burgess and Lee Morris represented Quakers Running Club this year.

Many thanks to Lin for organising the Community of Runners group for the 3rd year.
