Congratulations to members of the Summer 2024 Couch to 5k/Beginners Group, who completed their graduation parkrun at Darlington South Park last Saturday, 20th July. Coaches Sharon and Andy have loved working with such a friendly, committed and hard-working group.
The graduates were cheered on at parkrun by 47 volunteers, the majority of whom were Quakers taking part in the club’s latest volunteer takeover. Medals were handed out and cakes were shared afterwards – the atmosphere was one of congratulations all round.
The old adage of Quakers being a ‘drinking club with a running habit’ was suitably upheld on Saturday afternoon/evening as the graduates celebrated their success with light refreshments at some of Darlington’s premier hostelries.
It’s been great to see some of the graduates join in with club sessions this week as they take the next steps on their running journey. Congratulations once again to all our fabulous graduates; look out for a reel coming soon on parkrun’s official social media accounts.
